FreezerWorks lab software is an ideal complement to your ultra-low temperature or cryogenic storage system. With FreezerWorks, you achieve total inventory control and report generation capability for accurate, efficient and cost-effective management of thousands of vials, boxes, racks or bulk packaged biologicals, specimens and other high value materials on archive.

FreezerWorks is based on a powerful relational database operating on your MS-DOS platform. Written in accordance with U.S. FDA guidelines for software development, FreezerWorks gives you the benefits of standardization, with complete custom capability and password protection. Inventory location, chronological data, lot number identification, sample nomenclature and many other parameters can be tracked with unprecedented accuracy.

Menu-driven software generates clearly formatted displays with customized fields of your choice, giving you the inventory location, partitioning and freezer allocation options you need to effectively manage use of capital equipment.

Reduces Operating Costs
Quick access to inventory before you open the freezer means openings are of shorter duration, less frequent, easier on the mechanically refrigerated or LN₂ cooling system, and ultimately safer for personnel and the stored product. Reference file pick lists help minimize exposure to ambient temperatures. Users minimize handling time and exposure to ultra-cold surfaces.

Features

• Report Generation. Standard reports include Empty Positions, Transactions, Storage Reports and more. Mass updating and modification options for specimen and vial information are especially convenient. The on-board ASCII Export Option allows you to download data to your label printer, report writer, spreadsheet, statistics utility or other software/platform.
• Physical Control. Functions such as "Move Specimens" allow you to log large volume transfers from one freezer to another in minutes. An entire box can be moved "as is", keeping all original box locations, or assigning vials to current open or free positions.
• Quick Access To Inventory. Time-consuming searches are reduced to seconds. Exhaustive or large-volume searches are quick and intuitive, whether for viewing or report generation. Samples are easily queried by a multitude of parameters such as specimen ID, storage type, and positive/negative; selection combinations are virtually unlimited through >, <, =, "contains" and more.

FreezerWorks Hardware Requirements

Computer/CPU
Requires IBM® PC or compatible. For large volume users (tens of thousands), a 386 class or higher is recommended. Operates on MS-DOS 4.0 or higher.

Compatibility
Compatible with LANtastic® and Novell® netware systems; vial assignment and updating by single user at a time. Information on other network systems available upon request. Operates on Windows® 3.1 using the DOS shell.

Main Memory
Hardware must include 530K available RAM, single user or LAN. Requires at least 2MB available hard disk space.
